CommentsI think the site is just what I needed. It seems as though I can actually connect with each of the Manhattans as individuals. However, I would like to make comments toe the entire group "The Manhattans" and I don't find that capability. I believe that other veteran fans would feel the same way because we don't really know one without the other. I love ALL of you together. So I think If I could address the "Manhattans" then that would satisfy my communication needs. Alice Rogers-Johnson
CommentsI think your website is great. I have been a fan of your since the 8 or 9 grade. I really enjoy you guys in concert at the Dallas Convention Center. I only wish you would have been the last ones to performed. Too bad the Manhattans couldn't have sung 'Everybody Has a Dream' and 'I Kinda Miss You'. I remember 'Everybody Has a Dream' from being my brother's senior class song in 1978, which is one of your greatest songs that I love. I have always long to 'Dance to a Luv Song' with that someone special. I will continue to buy your music and hope 'The Manhattans' will come to the Dallas' area again to do more than a 45 minutes show, but I will continue to enjoy your concerts even if they're only 30 minutes. God Bless you and your families and good luck with continue to sing love songs.
CommentsThis is the most. I love your website! You Guys really filled my heart here in Dallas. I knew you all were great when I listen to you all on the radio but in person there is none like you. I wish you all had more time to sing. Please make CD's with Sam Cooke songs. I will but everyone, like I have all of you all songs now! Ruby Cahill
CommentsI went to your show in Dallas Tx. this week and it was a show stopper. (It was the show ). Had it not been for your performance I would have ask for my money back, because of the problem with the sound system, by the way your show in Houston was was also a show stoper. Please inform me of any Texas shows you have in the future.
CommentsI loved your show in Dallas!!! As the previous comments indicate, the rest of the lineup was okay but you guys were at least two levels better than all of them. Gerald, Sam Cooke would be proud and I will be looking forward to checking you guys out again in the near future. Keep reminding us what good soul singing is all about. It's a lost art.
CommentsI had an opportunity to experience The Manhattans in Dallas during your recent appearance (March 6, 04). I thoroughly enjoyed the show, I was mesmerized by Blue's performance, so much style in his every move. And Gerald was truly sensational bringing the house down with 'A Change is gonna come!' I think The Temptations were the headliners, but in my book, The Manhattans stole the show!
CommentsI am still much in love with the Manhattan. Keep going strong. Love the website, too.
CommentsI have been trying for several years to reach Gerald. Hopefully someone will forward my e-mail address to him. My message: Hi Gerry, I hope that I hear from you it has been a very long time. We have a lot of catching up to do. I live in Florida now and I haven't been to E.Cleve. Ohio in 12 years. I see that you will be in Pensacola, Fl. on May 14, I would love to see you then. I have 2 boys, 16 and 9. My life:) Please contact me soon, I have so much to tell you. Love you Shotzie! Andrea

CommentsGreetings to "The Manhattans!" I saw your show on Sat. 13 Mar '04 at the Hampton Coliseum, Hampton, VA. and as usual, it was off the hook. Gerald, when you zoned into your songs...I felt like you took me with you. I have followed you music ever since I was a youngster growing up in Jersey City, NJ. and now being an adult, hearing your music and seeing your performances, gives me that nostolgic feeling all over again. I am going to try and follow every one of your performances on the East Coast until I get an autograph. :o) May God continue to Bless you individually and collectively.
CommentsWhere are the information about their albums? Or am I missing something? Otherwise, your site is a great salute to one of the greatest vocal-groups ever.
Commentshey troy, just wanted to wish you a very happy birthday. hope its a blessed one and here's to many, many, more. enjoy your day. natalie philly
CommentsI would like to start off by saying, I reallllllly enjoyed your performance in Columbia, SC on Wednesday March 10 of this year. My husband and I have been stationed here for almost three years, and it was the very best show we have seen since our arrival ... and then some. You guys did not miss a beat, whether it was with your steps ... music ... or captivation of the audience. It was also good to see that you believe in some form of exercise ... unless you are just lucky and got it like that. I am looking forward to purchasing your CD. Good luck and May God continue to bless each and everyone of you, as well as keeping the negative influences out of your group and life. If you should ever have the need for a beautiful, unique silk floral arrangement, that has a wonderful fragrance as well ... feel free to email me ... I guarantee ... you will be pleasantly surprised. Valerie

CommentsI think it is good be able to e-mail each member seperately,it makes everything so personal...I love you no matter what you guys do anyway, when I was in my 20's,I was just a picnic basket away from stalking Gerald,I had a big stupid crush on him.I still love him,and I loved him when he went solo..but dont ever change the songs you sing,it is all about love,we dont get enough of that now days.......wendy

God bless you all. CommentsAm enjoying the site and all the comments. It's good to know that the Manhattans have such a large following. Short note to Gerald: Remember Basin St. West, SF, early/mid 70's? I'll be in Emeryville, and hope to be able to say hello. Take care, and good to see y'all doing so well. CommentsJust an old friend saying hello and keep up the good work. CommentsI am smitty's grandson one of three and sister i would like to know more about my grandfather and his and your music CommentsThanks for recording Kiss and Say Goodbye. The song means more to me than anyone can imagine. It has brought me more tears than imaginable but no song has ever made me so happy either. Thanks for making it ! CommentsWhen the Brazilians will have the opportunity to see the shows of our manhattans,in Country, thing that it never happened on these 40 years. And that it likes Manhattans for here as it is. Manhattans forever CommentsListening to the sweet sounds of The Manhattan's on my CD player and thought perhaps there was a website. Wow, this is great! I'm so glad they're still together and touring. I noticed they don't get out West too often, but perhaps I can catch them sometime. Truly one of the great groups of all-time -- amazing singing! Thanks for the happy (and melancholy) music, which always makes me feel good! CommentsLove your website, "The Manhattans" has been a part of my life since I can remember. I have enjoyed your music through the years. And, right now I am enjoying "The Manhattans, Even Now". Thank you for the greats time, may GOD continue to bless each and every one, including the East Coast Connection for sounds they have provided. CommentsI'd like to express my dedication as a fan to one the best groups I've ever heard. I have been a fan for over 25 years and I still think Gerald is the best singer I ever heard. There is a part of this group that will live with me forever. I say that for good reason. When I was a young singer myself I had the opportunity along with the guys I sang with to open up for the Manhattans in Milwaukee,Wi back in the 70's. So i feel connected and understand when Gerald sings were ge is coming from. There are five Singers I admire and they are: Gerald Austin, Peabo Bryson, Luther Vandross, Feddie Jackson, and James Ingram. Timeless That's all I can say. Long live The Manhattans forever. CommentsHey Blue, This is Terrell. Just wanted to say hello and hope everything is well. Feel free to contact me 954-394-7626 or visit us online at EZMoveUSA.com. I am hoping to see one of these days or pay you a visit out in Arizona. Write Back. Terrell Comments
CommentsI feel a little stupid doing this but this site totally suits what i feel.Im 12 now and have never seen them in concert or on tv or anything but i heard their one song and now i cant stop playing it. i talk to my friends aboutthe song now they love them too. I know that they aint the kind of music we listen to but they are diffrent which makes them better than the group that now play in concerts i agree that they are in style but who needs style when you have the manhattens CommentsI watched the PBS viewing of "Rhythm, Love and Soul". Eventhough the songs are from my parents' generation I was fortunate to be introduced to thar R&B from a very young age, especially the Manhattans. I was in awe that all of the groups sounded just like they were 'back in the day'. Loved every second of the program. I became a huge fan back in the late 70's when I was a young GI in West Berlin Germany and I was fortunate enough to catch you guys in concert. That was the first time I heard songs from your soon to be released "Love Talk" album. Why hasn't this album ever been released on CD? It's not even listed in your discography. Bet you'd sell plenty if only it was released. I just purchased the new CD and you gentlemen are Back! Keep on keeping on. KEEP ON SINGING THOSE GREAT LOVE SONGS THAT ONLY THE MANHATTANS CAN MAKE SOUND SO GOOD. I HAVE BEEN A FAN FOR SO TIME NOW .I LOVE THE WEBSITE . JUST KEEP ON DOING WHAT THE MANHATTANS DO SO WELL. CommentsJust think...I almost didn't go! Last night at The Carter Barron in Washington DC (outside in the park!): The Manhattans and Ray Goodman and Brown. RGB opened, and they really put their thing DOWN! They have actually upped their game considerably in last few years. I figured The Manhattans would be pressed to follow them on stage. But you guys really REALLY performed! Outstanding! That was the best time I've had so far this summer! From the choreography, to the harmony, to the untouchable Gerald Austin, it was first class all the way! You guys should open up a school! And to think, I almost didn't go... (Oh yeah..nice website!) CommentsEarlier in the week I went to see a play in D.C. featuring "The Manhattans". They didn't look familiar when they came on stage and when the lead singers started his first note I said "those aren't the Manhattans". I was so disappointed and wanted to know what was going on. Then I saw The Manhattans were going to be at the Carter Baron that Saturday "featuring Gerald Alston and Blue Lovitt". I went out of curiosity and hope. When you guys came out on stage and Gerald hit that first note, I lit up. I said "now these are The Manhattans". You guys turned it out! Thank you so much and don't change a thing! CommentsEvery time "The Manhattans featuring Gerald Alston and Blue Lovett" are in concert in the Washington, DC, Metropolitan area,my best friend (Queen) and I always attend your concerts. We have always been fans for many years. We cherish all your songs. It was a dream that came true on June 26, 2004, to see "The Manhattans" as the headliner. It was a beautiful night at the Carter Baron and you all made it even moore special. I'm glad "Blue" cleared up the misunderstanding about the other Manhattans. We have bought tickets on several occassions thinking it was you all but with much disappoinment, it was Sonny's group. Now that we have your website, we can pull up your schedules. Thank you all for the wonderful memories. Today's generation do not make great music like you all. I (Michelle)only have one request. It would be wonderful if you all would sing (I KINDA MISS YOU). I have never heard you all sing my song yet in concert. We are most pleased to have finally met each and everyone of you on June 26, 2004, at the Carter Baron, and look forward to see The Mahanttans featuring Gerald Alston and Blue Lovett" along with Troy and Tyson in the near future. Your Biggest Fans, Michelle and Queen CommentsI HAD AND OPPORTUNITY TO SEE THE "MANHATTANS" NUMEROUS TIMES WHEN YOU ALL VISITED THE WASHINGTON DC, MD AND VA AREA. MY GOOD FRIEND (MICHELLE) AND I RUSHED TO PURCHASE FRONT ROLL SEAT TICKETS FOR THE MARCH 18TH, 2004 SHOW AT THE SHOW PLACE ARENA, ONLY TO LEARN THAT IT WAS NOT FEATURING GERALD ALSTON AND BLUE LOVETT. MY BEST FRIEND AND I WERE TRUELY UP TIGHT AND DEMANDED TO SPEAK WITH THE PROMOTER. AFTER LOCATING THE PROMOTER DEBBI EWING WHO DILIGENTLY EXPLAINED THAT IN ORDER TO SEE THE "MANHATTANS" FEATURING GERALD ALSTON AND BLUE LOVETT, THE ADVERTISMENT SHOULD SAY "THE MANHATTANS FEATURING GERALD ALSTON AND BLUE LOVETT". NOW THAT I KNOW THIS, I FIND MYSELF EXPLAINING THIS TO SOME OTHER FANS. I'M NOT SAYING THAT SUNNY'S GROUP DON'T DO A GREAT JOB BUT "THE MANHATTANS FEATURING GERALD ALSTON, BLUE LOVETT, TROY MAY AND DAVID TYSON TRUELY (AND I STRESS) BRING TEARS TO MY EYES. YOU ALL PUT SO MUCH FEELING INTO YOUR MUSIC. YOU ALL LOOK GREAT! AND I ONLY WISH YOU CONTINUED SUCCESS AND BLESSINGS. SEE YOU ON YOUR NEXT VISITS TO THE WASHINGTON DC METROPOLITAN AREA. CommentsHappy 40th Anniversary. My God continue to richly bless all of you. You Are My Shinning Stars! CommentsI just want to say, I have been listening to the Manhattans for the past 39 plus years. I have had the pleasure of seeing the group perform several times, and last year (September) I got to meet the group and they were just as nice as every day people or nicer. I want to congratulate Gerald and his lovely wife on their 22nd Wedding Anniversary. My husband and I are looking forward to listening and seeing the Manhattans perform for 40 plus years to come. Also, this past Saturday, June 26th we try to fine the tee shirts and photos, after the show to buy -- but were unable to fine them. If you have a web site that we can order from, please let us know. Thank you so much for all the hard work and dedication you all have shown us - your public. We love and wish you all only the best for years to come. God Bless CommentsSaturday, June 26, 2004, was another unforgettable evening of elegance with Ray, Goodman, and Brown, but especially THE MANHATTANS! I was truly blessed with your presence and the singing of my favorite song--old and new. I love you, and and it is my hope that you continue to uplift and enlighten us with your music. You are soooo down-to-earth and you know your fans LOVE it! Though I wish them well, Sonny and his group could never be THE MANHATTANS that you are today. Everytime you leave, I always want you to hurry and come back SOOOOOON!
